Sluis Crash: Driver Hits Two Trees on Hogeweg, Hospitalized
In a shocking incident, a driver lost control of their vehicle on Tuesday evening, colliding with two trees along the Hogeweg in Sluis. The driver was subsequently transported to a local hospital, though injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.
The accident occurred around 6:15 PM as the driver, heading towards Sluis from Aardenburg in their personal car, inexplicably veered into the right-hand shoulder. The vehicle struck the first tree, careened across the road, and crashed into a second tree before coming to a halt.
First responders arrived at the scene and tended to the driver, who was then transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The driver’s condition is currently reported as stable, with no apparent severe injuries.
Local towing company Kuzee was called in to remove the heavily damaged vehicle from the scene. The Waterschaps drained the road of spilled glass, and the Hogeweg remained closed to traffic until approximately 8:00 PM.
