The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore has released the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 admit card, providing registered management aspirants with access to their official hall tickets at iimcat.ac.in. Candidates must log in to the portal using their user ID and password to download the document ahead of the November 29 test date.
The release marks a crucial milestone for applicants targeting postgraduate management programmes across the country. The entrance examination will be conducted in three distinct shifts on November 29, 2026. The test papers will feature 68 questions split across three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). The marking scheme awards three marks for every correct answer while deducting one mark for each incorrect response.
Downloading the CAT 2026 Admit Card
Candidates can access their hall tickets by going to the official website and selecting the designated download link. Entering the correct user ID and password on the portal triggers the display of the admit card on the screen. Aspirants are instructed to save the document and print a physical copy for future reference. Officials note that digital copies will not suffice for entry.
Did You Know? CAT 2026 scores will remain valid until December 31, 2027, giving successful candidates a full year beyond the exam date to apply for participating programmes.
Verification and Exam Day Requirements
The printed hall ticket serves as a mandatory entry pass for the test center. Security personnel will inspect the document alongside an original, valid photo ID proof. Mobile phones, electronic gadgets, personal stationery, and prohibited items such as jackets with pockets, hoodies, and metallic accessories are strictly barred from the examination hall. Candidates must verify that their name, registration number, photograph, examination centre, test date, reporting time, and exam slot are accurate.
Use scores for business school admissions
Passing the written examination opens the door to institutional selection processes, though individual business schools maintain distinct criteria. While CAT scores provide the baseline metric for Master of Business Administration (MBA) admissions at IIMs and participating institutes, individual campuses may also weigh academic performance in Classes 10 and 12, graduation marks, and professional work experience. Aspirants are encouraged to monitor official channels for updates regarding subsequent selection rounds.
