A 12-year-old boy has been injured following an explosion in a residential building in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. According to initial reports, the boy suffered burns to his face and hand after a gas cylinder type ‘f顿on’ detonated in the apartment on December 28, at 5:56 PM. He was provided immediate medical attention at a Plovdiv hospital and later released for home recuperation.

An investigation at the scene revealed that several doors, parts of the wall, and windows were damaged as a result of the explosion. Preliminary findings indicate that the incident was caused by the detonation of a gas cylinder.

Police in Stara Zagora reported another gas-related incident on December 27, where a gas cylinder on the balcony of a residence storing it, causing damage to the apartment and a parked car under the terrace. The residence housed a 49-year-old man and an 86-year-old woman.

The ongoing probe into the 12-year-old’s case is under the supervision of Stara Zagora’s Regional Prosecutor’s Office. More details are awaited as investigations continue.
