The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-21 on Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, in Philadelphia. Dak Prescott threw three touchdown passes and Javonte Williams rushed for 155 yards to lift Dallas to 3-4, while the Eagles fell to 2-5, marking their fifth consecutive loss.
The victory provides a critical shift for a Cowboys team that had struggled in recent primetime appearances. Dallas used a balanced offensive attack to secure the road win, while Philadelphia continues to spiral during its longest losing skid since 2016. Dak Prescott described the victory as “massive, noting the importance of getting a division win in a
hostile environment” before the team returns home for a couple of weeks.
Javonte Williams and Dak Prescott Lead Dallas Attack
Dallas dominated the trenches, finishing with 204 total rushing yards. Javonte Williams recorded a career-high 155 yards and a 2-yard touchdown, the first 150-yard rushing performance by a Cowboys player since Ezekiel Elliott in 2018. Tyler Goodson added 38 yards on 10 carries to complement Williams’ power. Coach Brian Schottenheimer utilized 37 designed rushes, marking the most balanced the offense has looked all season.

Javonte, man, the power, the acceleration, it was there tonight. He looked great.
Dak Prescott threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns. He connected twice with CeeDee Lamb, including a 16-yard floater in the corner of the end zone to reclaim the lead late in the third quarter. Prescott also threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to George Pickens. Prescott said of the team’s performance, Stuck to the run. Had great balance.

Entering the game, Prescott had led the Cowboys with 1,639 passing yards and 10 touchdown passes through six games. Dallas ranks 6th in the league in passing yards per game (267.2) and 9th in scoring (25.2 points per game). The Cowboys’ passing attack, which completes 66.3 percent of its passes, leaned heavily on its receivers to create production.
Eagles Struggle With Injuries and Defensive Lapses
Philadelphia played without Jalen Hurts, who is expected to miss the rest of the season due to blood clots in his lungs. Since Hurts became the starter in 2021, the Eagles are 3-6 without him. Backup Tanner McKee, who began the season third on the depth chart, orchestrated the first Eagles touchdown drive of the third quarter this season, running nearly 10 minutes off the clock. However, McKee’s efforts ended in the fourth quarter when he threw an interception to Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, who was making his first appearance since a Week 1 hamstring injury.

Saquon Barkley returned from a hamstring injury, recording 62 yards on seven carries and an 8-yard touchdown. Despite the score, Barkley appeared limited, visiting the sideline medical tent and receiving treatment for his back. Barkley, a former Offensive Player of the Year, had 37 yards rushing on the opening drive alone but ultimately played limited snaps. Other key absences included wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, as well as outside linebacker Nolan Smith. Kick returner Britain Covey suffered a knee injury in the first quarter.
The Eagles found a brief spark through rookie Makai Lemon, who caught a 4-yard touchdown. Lemon finished with season highs of six receptions for 59 yards.

Philadelphia Faces Division Struggles Before Trade Deadline
The loss leaves Philadelphia in a precarious position within the NFC East. While the New York Giants lead the division at 4-2-1, Dallas now sits at 3-4 and is the only team with two division victories. The Eagles are 2-5 and face two more divisional games—against the Washington Commanders on a Sunday night and the New York Giants at home.
| Team | Record | Division Record |
|---|---|---|
| New York Giants | 4-2-1 | 1-0-1 |
| Dallas Cowboys | 3-4 | 2-1 |
| Philadelphia Eagles | 2-5 | 1-1 |
| Washington Commanders | 1-4-1 | 0-2-1 |
With the Nov. 10 trade deadline approaching, some analysts suggest Philadelphia should consider selling. The team has struggled defensively, allowing 137 total points through six games, ranking 17th-fewest points allowed per game (22.8). The Eagles’ pass rush has been particularly ineffective, recording only 8 sacks through seven games, trailing only the Miami Dolphins (6).
Jeffrey Lurie Inducted Into Eagles Hall
The game featured a halftime celebration for Jeffrey Lurie, who was inducted into the team’s Hall. Despite the festivities, the mood remained grim for a team facing its longest skid in a decade, following previous long losing streaks of eight games in 2012 and seven games in 1994.
