Anne Murphy (née Kissane) of Bonagrew, Brittas Bay, Co. Wicklow, passed away peacefully on January 9th, 2026, surrounded by family. Ms. Murphy, formerly of Killomeroe, Lisselton, Co. Kerry, received care at Wicklow Hospice, Magheramore, prior to her death.
A Life Remembered
The passing of Anne Murphy is mourned by a large circle of family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Gary, and their five children: Darragh, Cormac, Niall, Eoin, and Laura. Ms. Murphy is also remembered by her seven siblings – Johnny, Paudie, Margaret, Myra, Deirdre, Carmel, and Catherine – as well as her mother-in-law, Eileen Murphy.
Numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, and colleagues also share in this loss. Ms. Murphy was predeceased by her parents, Marie and Richie.
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing will take place at McCrea’s Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Wicklow Town (A67E003) this Sunday evening, January 11th, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. A removal will occur on Monday to Star of The Sea Church, Brittas Bay, for an 11:00am Funeral Mass.
Following the Mass, interment will take place in Barndarrig cemetery. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Wicklow Hospice. A donation link is available here.
