Dieter passed away peacefully on April 25th while in the care of St. Joseph’s Ward at University Hospital Galway. He was surrounded by his loving family during his final moments.
Funeral Arrangements and Community Tributes
The family has announced that Dieter will be reposed at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, located on Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8). This will take place on Wednesday, April 29th, from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.
A Celebration of Dieter’s life is scheduled for Thursday, April 30th, at 11:00am at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour. This service will be followed by a private cremation.
Family and Legacy
Dieter is survived by his wife, Eileen, and his children, Conor, Tom, and Anna. He is also deeply missed by his brothers, Frank and Karl-Heinz, and his sister, Ursula, along with his nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Inge and Hans. In addition to his human family and a wide circle of friends, he is remembered by his dogs, Leela and Henry.
The family has requested family flowers only. However, donations in memory of Dieter may be made to the Galway Hospice Foundation.
