The Misiones Ministry of Public Health has announced the rollout of the second dose of the dengue vaccine for adolescents aged 15 to 19, commencing on December 26. This initiative is part of the department’s strategic plan to prevent and control the dengue fever.
Approximately 2,000 adolescents who received their first dose in September are eligible for the second dose. They are required to present their vaccination card and national identity document (DNI) at designated vaccination centers. The second dose will be administered three months after the first, in line with the recommended vaccination schedule.
The vaccination drive will initially take place in the Capital, Eldorado, and Iguazú departments, with further locations to be rolled out in the upcoming weeks. This endeavor is part of the local government’s comprehensive strategy to combat dengue fever, the Plan Estratégico de Prevención y Control del dengue 2024-2025.
