Brown University senior gymnast Sophia Dewar has been recognized as the Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Gymnast of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Dewar’s consistent performance throughout the season culminated in a standout showing at the recent dual meet against SUNY Cortland.
Dewar’s Dominant Performance Against Cortland
Dewar secured first place on vault with a score of 9.750 and tied for first on floor with a career-high tying score of 9.875. She also contributed a score of 9.700 on bars, tying for fifth place. Her performance was instrumental in the Brown gymnastics team achieving the sixth-highest overall score in program history (194.900) and tying for the eighth-best score on bars (48.875).
