Earthquake of Magnitude 2.2 Registered Near Sofia
A magnitude 2.2 earthquake was recorded approximately 7.9 kilometers north-west of Zlatitsa, Sofia Province, and about 59 kilometers from the capital city of Sofia. This was reported by the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy, and Geography at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (NIGGG-BAS).
The earthquake occurred around midday and was recorded at a depth of 13.5 kilometers. While the earthquake was relatively minor, it serves as a reminder of the geological activity in the region.
The NIGGG-BAS has not reported any damages or injuries resulting from the earthquake. However, residents in the affected area may have felt a slight tremor.
