Accident on Train Tracks: Man Rescued, Out of Danger; Company Denies Fall
The head of Argentina’s Metropolitan Public Transportation Network (SAME), Alberto Crescenti, confirmed in a dialog with C5N that the man who was struck by a train is now out of danger.
Earlier, it was uncertain whether the man had fallen by accident or had jumped onto the tracks, as reported by ámbito.com. Crescenti detailed that the victim was rescued by firefighters and SAME personnel using three ambulances, along with a motorcycle paramedic and a psychologist. He was transferred with a cranial and cerebral trauma, but his condition has reportedly stabilized.
Emova, the transport company, stated that the man was walking in a prohibited zone on the tracks. Their initial version is that he did not fall but was intentionally on the tracks. Despite this, the man’s intentions remain unclear.
While the train formation did not collide with the man according to initial investigations, the jubilado suffered severe trauma and was seen in a state of shock with visible head injuries on social media images. Both the man and the train’s conductor were provided psychological assistance by medical professionals.
