Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s second-largest city, has kicked off a significant public procurement project aimed at revamping its road infrastructure. The project, divided into two distinct lots, covers various repair and construction works across the city’s different districts.

The first lot focuses on streets and boulevards within the "Sеверен", "Източен", and "Централен" districts. Meanwhile, the second lot encompasses the "Западен", "Южен", and "Тракия" districts. The project includes the construction and repair of pavement, sidewalk, alley, and parking lot surfaces, among others.

The total budget for this project stands at €3.1 million (excluding VAT). The repair works will involve replacing old and damaged sidewalks with new or recycled paving stones, as well as installing new parking lot surfaces made from vibro-compacted concrete blocks. Additionally, the project includes the installation of high-grip resin for bike lanes in a distinctive red color, along with other road safety features such as traffic dividers, anti-parking elements, and accessible environment improvements.

The contract duration is set at two years from the date of signing. The project is initiated by Plovdiv’s mayor, Kostadin Dimitrov, with tenders to be submitted by January 20. The project aims to enhance the city’s road infrastructure, ensuring safety and accessibility for its residents and visitors.
