EU Disburses €3 Billion to Ukraine in First Tranche of G7 Credit

The European Union has transferred €3 billion to Ukraine as the first installment of a credit provided by the Group of Seven (G7) nations. This financial aid comes from the earnings generated by the reinvestment of frozen Russian assets. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced the news on her social media platforms.

"Today, we have disbursed €3 billion to Ukraine as the first tranche of the European part of the G7 loan," she posted on her official X account. This significant financial assistance is part of the international community’s continued support for Ukraine as it navigates the ongoing conflict.
