Emergency Alert: Ballistic weapons used in fresh strike on Chernihiv, Ukraine
In breaking news, the Ukrainian Air Force reports that enemy forces have employs ballistic weapons in a strike on Chernihiv, with residents urged to seek shelter immediately.
"This is a ballistic strike on Chernihiv. Please stay in shelters until further notice," the Air Force warned.
Residents in the vicinity of the city reportedly heard explosions, with advisors cautioning that a group missile strike had occurred. "Remain in shelters," they urged.
In an update at 17:17, at least two private homes were reportedly damaged, and one civilian was injured.
This latest attack is part of an ongoing pattern of Russian-aligned forces targeting Ukrainian territories, posing a significant threat to civilians. A variety of weapons, including rocket systems, artillery, drones, and guided aerial bombs, have been employed.
Earlier, on the evening of December 18, Russia hit the border region of Chernihiv Oblast. In that incident, a police major was fatally wounded.
