Jakarta, Indonesia – An alarming incident of mob assault, leading to the public stripping of a woman, has sparked outrage and gone viral on social media. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, January 5, 2025, in the Pluit area of Penjaringan, North Jakarta. Here are the key facts:
1. A Family Affair
The assault was carried out by a family consisting of a mother and her children. The graphic scene was captured on video, showing the victim being beaten and eventually stripped in a public street. The woman’s face was swollen and she had bruises all over her body due to the severe beating.
“The victim was beaten and tugged at her clothes. She was undressed in public,” said Senior Sergeant (Kabag) Lukman from the Jakarta North Metro Police Crime Task Force, adding that the victim had since been discharged from the hospital and was recovering at home.
The family members involved were identified as:
- Mother: K (42)
- Eldest son: EWH (21)
- Daughter: VS (22)
- Second son: BDP (22)
- Youngest daughter: CDK (16)
2. Alleged Affair with the Suspect’s Husband
The brutal attack reportedly occurred due to an allegation that the victim had an affair with the husband of one of the assailants. The victim is said to be the mistress of the suspect’s spouse. The police are currently investigating these claims.
“The victim is reportedly having an affair with the suspect’s husband,” Lukman confirmed. He also mentioned that the husband would be summoned to discuss the allegation of infidelity.
3. Entire Family Named Suspects
The police have officially named the entire family as suspects in the case. They have been charged under Article 170 of the Criminal Code, which deals with mob violence.
“All of them have been named suspects and are being processed accordingly,” Lukman said.
4. Minor Daughter Temporarily Released
One of the assailants, CDK (16), a student at a local junior high school, was temporarily released into her father’s custody due to her age. However, she remains a suspect in the case.
“The youngest daughter is being handled separately due to her age. She’s currently being cared for by her father,” Lukman explained.
5. Victim Suffers Severe Injuries
The victim sustained numerous injuries across her body from the attack. After receiving medical treatment, she was discharged and is now recuperating at home.
“The victim suffered severe injuries, including bruises on her face and body,” Lukman said. The lead investigator from the North Jakarta Metro Police Crime Task Force, AKP Wan Deni Ramona, confirmed that the victim had also undergone an examination.
