Fire Breaks Out in Technical Room; Likely Caused by Firecrackers (UPDATE)
In aelarert incident, a fire broke out in a technical room in a residential complex, with the blaze first detected through an automated alarm just before 11:30 PM. Upon arrival, the first responders from the fire brigade encountered open flames.
"Reports indicate a fire in a technical room," said duty commander Lars Lindal at the 110 emergency center. "We’ve dispatched several units to contain the situation until we assess the extent of the damage."
Nearly two hours later, the police reported that the fire was under control. Primarily contained within the technical room, the incident could have caused significant disruption had it not been swiftly dealt with.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire. Operations leader Eirik Sannes from the police revealed, "Our current hypothesis suggests that someone might have shot fireworks into a ventilation shaft, sparking the blaze."
While the investigation is still ongoing, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers posed by fireworks. Residents are urged to exercise extreme caution when using them and adhere to all safety guidelines to prevent similar incidents in the future.
