Foodstuffs Ends Clubcard Loyalty Programme
Foodstuffs is phasing out its Clubcard loyalty programme, with the system set to officially close at 11.59pm this Sunday, July 26. The retailer has replaced the scheme with a new platform, Club+, which launched last month. Customers are encouraged to migrate their accounts to the new system to maintain access to member discounts and offers across New World, Four Square, and PAK’nSAVE stores.
Transitioning to the Club+ System
The shift to Club+ is designed to accommodate modern shopping habits, according to Foodstuffs chief customer officer Deirdre Boyle. Boyle noted that the original Clubcard programme launched when smartphones were still becoming part of everyday life. The new system aims to provide a more personalized and connected experience across the co-operative’s family of brands.
For members transitioning to the new programme, any existing New World Dollars will be automatically transferred to Club+ Dollars. Those who do not join before the Sunday cutoff are not losing their funds permanently; Foodstuffs confirmed that members can still transfer their New World Dollars balance if they join at a later date. However, any remaining balance will expire 24 months after the member’s final Clubcard transaction.
