Kent State Gymnastics Faces Tough Competition, Celebrates Senior Day
The Kent State Golden Flashes gymnastics team recently competed at Western Michigan, falling to the Broncos with a score of 195.575-194.125. Despite the loss, several Flashes showcased strong performances, particularly on bars and vault.
Strong Start on Bars
Kent State began the meet with a standout performance on uneven bars, achieving their highest rotation score of the day with a 49.150. Heidi Schultz led the team, securing first place with a 9.850. Charlie Behner, Sophia Balko, Taylor Archambeau, and Nastia Rudnitskaya all tied for second place, each earning a 9.825. Lana Mast contributed a solid 9.775 to round out the rotation.
Vault and Floor Highlights
Jersey Bingman took first place on vault with a score of 9.850. Charlie Behner and Sophia Balko tied for second with 9.825s, while Taylor Archambeau earned a 9.800 for third. On floor, Charlie Behner and Heidi Schultz tied for first with scores of 9.875 and 9.850 respectively.
Beam Performances
Heidi Schultz led the Flashes on beam, earning a 9.800 for second place. Anika Most followed with a 9.775, tying for third. Nene Alvine scored a 9.625, while Gabby Riley earned a 9.450.

The Flashes will return home to the MAC Center for their final home meet on Sunday, March 15, at 1 p.m. Eastern against Eastern Michigan. This meet will be particularly special as it marks the final home competition for head coach Brice Biggin after 35 seasons leading the Kent State gymnastics program.
