Thorough Granizo Storm in San Juan: Impacts and Damage Assessment Advice
A sudden and intense hailstorm swept through the capital of San Juan and the surrounding area of Pocito Norte, causing major damage to vehicles, leaving residents shocked and authorities scrambling for solutions.
Leandro Moreno, a local lawyer, spoke to DIARIO HUARPE, stressing the importance of immediate action. "Before moving your vehicle, document the damages by taking detailed photographs of the impacts on the roof, hood, windshield, and any other affected areas," he advised. "These will serve as vital evidence when filing a claim with your insurance company or getting repair estimates."
In cases of shattered glass, insurance policies often cover these incidents, although it’s typically an additional coverage option. Moreno explained, "It’s usually an add-on, and most people in San Juan don’t have it. It’s only included if you request it during the initial sign-up. As hailstorms are rare here, most people choose not to include this costly option."
If you’ve suffered a broken windshield, is crucial to contact your insurance company promptly. Provide them with the necessary documentation, including photos and a damage report. If your policy covers hail damage, your insurer will guide you through the assessment and repair process for your vehicle.
