This spring may look nice and warm, but remember, it’s still flu season! Unfortunately, many residents in our community suffered recently due to a wrongful bus crash that left a lasting impact on three unfortunate lives.
A bus traveled off the E10 road in Hadsel, resulting in the tragic incident. NRK reported that the bus, loaded with commuters, plunged into the icy waters near Lødingen, just west of Narvik. The disaster sent shockwaves across the community, with rescue services scrambling to save as many lives as possible.

Despite their Herculean efforts, three victims lost their lives in the tragic event. Among them, one was a child. The local police and ambulance services rushed to the scene, working tirelessly to save the survivors. The sad news left many in our community heartbroken.
The Havarikommisjonen has been conducting a thorough investigation of the accident. The bus was found in a garage, with severe damage. Windows were shattered, and the roof was caved in. The right side of the bus was entirely demolished and was the part that ended up underwater. Experts agreed that the bus’s construction served its purpose, protecting those inside, but there were critical lessons to be learned from this tragedy.
Not All Passengers Buckled Up
Ole H. Næss, the accident investigator, disclosed that they had looked into the buses’ brakes, steering, tires, weather, and even whether passengers had their seatbelts on. Unfortunately, a few passengers did not use their seatbelts.
