Headline: Urgent: Ukrainian Capital Braces After ‘Mолния-1’ Drone Strike Hits Kyivskyi District

The Kyiv City Council has issued a reminder that a drone strike utilizing the ‘Молния-1’ ("Lightning-1") drone occurred yesterday in the Kyivskyi district. The attack resulted in damage to four local buildings, with city authorities confirming the incident. By 6 PM local time on January 5, communal services had successfully boarded up all damaged windows in the affected area.

Yesterday’s drone strikes on Kyiv are part of an escalation in violence by Russia-backed forces in the region. Last month, similar attacks were reported in the city’s Saliivskyi and Holodnohirskyi districts. Although fortunately no casualties have been reported, the incidents underscore the ongoing tension and security concerns in the region.

As the situation unfolds, residents of Kyiv are urged to remain vigilant and follow all safety instructions provided by local authorities. The city’s defense forces, led by Mayor Vitali Klitschko, continue to work diligently to ensure the safety of its citizens.

In related news, earlier today, the Chief of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration (KRSA), Oleh Synehubov, provided an update on recent shelling incidents in Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv, and Kupiansk districts.
