Indonesia’s Acting Governor Reacts to Public Outcry Over BPJS Health Status of Harvey Moeis and Sandra Dewi
Indonesia’s Acting Governor (Pj) of DKI Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, has spoken out on the recent controversy surrounding the BPJS Kesehatan status of celebrity couple, Harvey Moeis and Sandra Dewi. The pair, who have been embroiled in a corruption scandal, have sparked public outcry due to their apparent access to public health insurance.
Acting Governor Teguh Setyabudi acknowledged the public’s concerns, stating, "I understand the people’s curiosities and criticisms over this matter." He emphasized that the ongoing investigation by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) should shed light on the situation.
In response to allegations that the couple’s BPJS coverage was funded by APBD (Regional General Budget), Teguh expressed, "If it’s proven that their BPJS is indeed funded with APBD, we will take firm action in accordance with the laws and regulations."
He further assured the public that his administration is committed to transparency and accountability, adding, "We will not hesitate to act against any violations found, no matter who is involved."
The public’s concern over this issue highlights the growing scrutiny of corruption in Indonesia’s political and entertainment circles. With the KPK’s ongoing investigation, many are expecting a swift resolution to decisively address these allegations.
