With temperatures set to hit a maximum of 36°C (97°F) and a minimum of 10°C (50°F) today, the region is gearing up for an unsettled weather day, according to the latest forecast from the Weather Contingency Department. The day promises to be inconstant with varying clouds and isolated storms, as winds shift from northeast to the southern sector.
Travellers heading to Chile are also urged to take heed, as precautions have been issued for potential rain in the mountain ranges.
Severe Weather Alerts Issued
The National Meteorological Service has issued two high-level alerts:

Naranja (Orange) Alert:
- Expected impact: Strong or severe storms with heavy rainfall, intense lightning, hail, and winds exceeding 90 km/h (56 mph).
- Affected areas: East Las Heras, La Paz, Lavalle, San Martín, and Santa Rosa towards evening, as well as General Alvear and lower San Rafael.
- Timing: From the late afternoon onwards.
- Amarillo (Yellow) Alert:
- Expected impact: Strong storms with heavy rainfall, intense lightning, hail, and winds up to 60 km/h (37 mph). Precipitation may fall as snow or hail in higher elevated areas.
- Affected areas: General Alvear and lower San Rafael region in the afternoon, as well as the pre-cordillera of Las Heras and Luján de Cuyo from the afternoon into the night.
