Car Landed Upside Down in Ditch on Icy Road in Ostenbeers; Driver Arrested for Suspected Drunk Driving
In a startling incident, a car ended up flipped upside down in a ditch along the Neereindseweg in Ostenbeers early this morning. The crash resulted in a call for emergency services, including police, fire fighters, and a trauma helicopter.
Despite limited snowfall in the area, the road conditions were perilously icy, leading to the vehicle losing control and landing upside down in the ditch. Miraculously, both occupants managed to exit the car unassisted, with only minor inconveniences of wet clothing to show for the harrowing experience.
However, the initial investigation by the Kempen police suggests that the cause of the crash may have been more than just icy roads. The driver has been taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
