Zwolle Sees Surge in Incidents with 83 Callouts in a Year, Most Related to Fires

ZWOLLE, Netherlands — The regional fire brigade has revealed a significant increase in callouts over the past year, with a total of 83 incidents compared to the 47 recorded in the previous year. Notably, 74 of these callouts were directly attributed to fire-related emergencies.

The brigades in Zwolle and Deventer were particularly busy, tackling multiple smaller fires and incidents over extended periods. These included blazes involving sheds, party tents, cars, hedges, and even residential buildings. Meanwhile, in Willemsoord, ‘s-Heerenbroek, and the Hoogenweg neighborhood, the control room escalated several incidents to medium-scale fires, but managed to quickly restore control in each instance.

While these numbers indicate an increase in emergency situations, it is essential to note that the fire brigade successfully contained each incident and ensured public safety. The regional authorities are now working to analyze these trends and prepare protocols to further enhance their response capabilities.
