Indonesian Military (TNI-AL) Members Involved in Villa Rental Boss Shooting Incident
In a shocking turn of events, three members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) are under investigation for their alleged involvement in the shooting of a villa rental boss in Tangerang, Banten. The incident occurred on June 14th at around 11:30 PM.
The victim, identified as M., was shot multiple times by unidentified assailants while inside his car. He was rushed to Harapan Kita Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The motive behind the killing remains unclear.
Hendro, the Chief of the Tangerang Police‘s Criminal Investigation Unit (SKK), disclosed that M. was involved in a legal dispute with a high-ranking military figure over the rental of a vehicles. The villa rental boss was allegedly selling the vehicles to private individuals at a price higher than what he had agreed with the military.
Authorities are currently questioning several military personnel, including the high-ranking officer involved in the dispute. The military has promised full cooperation in the investigation and has issued a statement condemning the shooting.
Honda Brio Worth Millions Discounted to Rp 23 Million
Meanwhile, a Honda Brio believed to be owned by the deceased villa rental boss was found to have been sold to a TNI-AL member at a fraction of its original price. The car, which is estimated to be worth around Rp 150 million, was sold for a mere Rp 23 million.
The TNI-AL member in question is alleged to be part of a syndicate involved in the sale of military vehicles to civilians at discounted prices. The military has launched an internal investigation into the matter and has vowed to take disciplinary action against any members found to be involved in the illegal sale of military assets.
PoliceOfficer Involved in Villa Rental Boss Shooting Incident Transferred
Following the shooting incident, the policeman involved in the case, Ilaga, has been transferred to the Cinangka Police Station in Karawang, West Java. The transfer was made following public pressure and to ensure the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
The Tangerang Police have also announced that they are pursuing two other police officers involved in the case. However, their identities have not been revealed to maintain the confidentiality of the investigation.
Amnesty International Urges TNI-Polri to Stop Using ‘Oknum’ Term
In light of the incident, Amnesty International has called on the Indonesian military (TNI) and police (Polri) to stop using the term ‘Oknum’, which refers to ‘collaborators’ or ‘informants’. The rights group argued that the use of the term could incite hatred and violence against individuals perceived as cooperating with the military or police.
Police Chase Two DPOs Involved in Villa Rental Boss Shooting Incident
The police are also on the hunt for twoDPOs (Data Processing Officers) from the Tol Tangerang Merak toll road concessionaire who are suspected of being involved in the shooting incident. The two individuals are believed to have been present at the scene of the crime and may have witnessed the shooting.
The Tangerang Police have issued a warrant for their arrest and have urged the public to come forward with any information that could help in their apprehension.
