The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has swiftly addressed allegations stemming from the 2024 Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) case, demonstrating its commitment to justice and transparency. A recent series of simultaneous and consecutive Ethics Commission (KKEP) hearings, overseen by colleagues from the Police Education and Training Center (Kompolnas), culminated in significant outcomes for two officers.

Case Details

The first officer, serving as a canteen officer (Kanit) in the Metro Jaya regional police drugs unit (Ditresnarkoba), was found guilty of misconduct during DWP 2024. Despite successfully detaining foreign and local nationals suspected of drug abuse, the officer was found to have demanded money in exchange for their release.

The KKEP panel consisted of respected officials, among them:

• Demotion from police duties for the next eight years

Counter Appeal

Following the verdict, the officer filed an appeal, leading to a second hearing with an adjusted panel, including:

On January 3, 2025, hearings for two more suspects, SM and FRS, resumed at the Police HQ. Authorities assure the public that all involved will face appropriate justice, with charges corresponding to each individual’s roles and actions.
