The health authorities of Jurisdiction Sanitaria 01, headquartered in Piedras Negras, have announced significant progress in their flu vaccination campaign. With 60% of the target population already vaccinated, the region is well on track to meet the goals set by the Coahuila State Health Secretariat.

Priscilla Hernández López, the public health coordinator for the jurisdiction, took the opportunity to encourage the public to get vaccinated. Reminding everyone that the flu vaccine is not only effective in preventing the flu but also in reducing the risk of severe complications, sometimes even death.

Those interested in receiving the vaccine can visit either the General Hospital, the Hospital de Allende, or any of the health centers belonging to Jurisdiction Sanitaria 01. Hernández López emphasized that it’s crucial to be in good health before vaccination, advising that those with fever or any contraindications should wait until they’re feeling better.

The campaign is primarily focused on reaching children and adults over the age of 60, aiming to prevent any potential complications that may arise from the flu. As the cooler seasons approach, the campaign aims to create a barrier of protection against the virus.

With the flu vaccine being a preventive measure that can save lives, the jury’s still out on whether you’ll catch the flu this season. But one thing’s for certain, getting vaccinated is your best shot at staying healthy.
