AFULA, Israel — Two violent incidents in northern Israel on Tuesday have underscored the escalating concerns regarding a persistent wave of crime that has impacted the region for months.
In Afula, a man in his 30s was killed following a car explosion. The Magen David Adom emergency service reported receiving a call at 8:40 a.m. Regarding the blast. Medics arrived to find the man unconscious with multi-system injuries. Despite resuscitation efforts during transport to HaEmek Medical Center, the man succumbed to his wounds. Police have launched an investigation into the explosion, which they currently suspect is criminal rather than nationalistic in nature. Simultaneously, authorities in nearby Haifa are investigating the death of a woman, aged around 50, who was found in an apartment. Police are treating the case as a suspected homicide. Three local residents have been arrested in connection with the woman’s death; reports indicate that the victim’s husband is among those detained. Her body has been sent to the Abu Kabir forensic institute to determine the exact cause of death.
