Bulgaria Braces for Snow and Strong Winds as Winter’s Grasp Tightens

Bulgaria is set to awaken to a significant cloud cover across most of the country, with snow flurries expected in the northern and eastern regions of the North. According to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, the clouds will be intermittent in the South and West, while the winds will be mild to moderate, blowing predominantly from the North-Northwest. Temperatures are set to range between 1°C to 6°C nationwide, with Sofia expecting to hover around 2°C.

In the central and eastern mountain ranges, the clouds will gather, ushering in snowfall. Meanwhile, the western mountains can expect clearer skies and fierce to stormy North-Northeasterly winds. At 1200 meters above sea level, temperatures will peak at around 0°C, plummeting to about -6°C at 2000 meters.

The Black Sea coast will remain largely overcast, with light snowfall expected in the northern regions before noon. Temperatures will range from 3°C to 6°C, with the sea water temperature maintaining a chilly 9°C to 10°C. Oceanic conditions are expected to be moderate, with wave heights reaching 3-4 meters.

Bulgarians are advised to brace for the unyielding winter, with appropriate clothing and precautions taken for travel and outdoor activities. Keep an eye on local weather updates for further news.
