A catastrophic collision between a vehicle and a stray group of five horses in the early hours of this morning has claimed the life of an 18-year-old passenger, in an incident reported by bTV. The severe crash occurred along the roadway between Kystendil and the village of Yanbloko, around 1 a.m.
The horses were found on the roadway, and the victim was travelling in the back seat of the car. Both the driver and another passenger were rushed to the hospital following the incident. Tragically, all five horses were pronounced dead at the scene.
Local authorities identified and detained the horses’ owner, who claimed that the animals had escaped from their enclosure after jumping over drooping electric fencing nearby. In response to the serious nature of this incident, local authorities in Kystendil have cancelled a scheduled Kuckerski festival that was meant to take place today.
