Tokayev also clarified that Kazakhstan is not pursuing a role as a mediator between Russia and Ukraine, but stands ready to assist if its expertise in international problems is sought. This stance echoes Kazakh-Russian relations, as Tokayev previously reassured Russian President Vladimir Putin about Kazakhstan’s reliability as an ally and commitment to preserving the Russian language during their November meeting.
The Kazakh and Russian leaders also discussed strengthening energy and industrial ties, culminating in a joint statement to deepen their strategic partnership in the face of global shifts.
