LinkDaddy LLC Reports 1.52M AI Crawler Requests to AI Verified Registry

AI Crawler Activity Highlights Growing Interest in Business Identity Data

LinkDaddy LLC reported that Cloudflare recorded 1.52 million requests from AI crawlers accessing public AI Verified content over a seven-day period, according to a press release. The data, sourced from Cloudflare’s monitoring, includes activity from crawlers linked to major tech firms such as OpenAI, Meta, Amazon, and Google.

Major Tech Firms Drive Crawler Traffic

During the period, 707,862 requests were attributed to OpenAI, followed by 391,137 from Meta and 302,471 from Amazon. Other companies, including Apple, Microsoft, and Perplexity, also contributed smaller but significant volumes of traffic. LinkDaddy emphasized that these figures represent automated systems accessing public business identity records, not direct endorsements of the registry.

“AI Verified was built around a simple problem: business information is often spread across websites, registrations, profiles and other public sources,” said Anthony Peacock, founder of LinkDaddy LLC. “The registry brings those identity signals together into one public business profile and a structured record that software can read.”

AI Verified’s Role in Business Identity Management

AI Verified functions as a public business identity registry, compiling information such as website links, licenses, and credentials into machine-readable formats. The service uses a tiered model: Bronze offers free, publicly sourced data; Silver records a website connection to that identity; and Gold allows businesses to add detailed records.

“AI Verified does not publish consumer ratings or rank businesses,” LinkDaddy clarified. “A crawler request only shows that an identified automated crawler accessed content.”

Distinction From ‘Verified AI’ and Other Frameworks

LinkDaddy stressed that AI Verified is distinct from broader concepts like “verified AI” or Singapore’s AI Verify governance framework. The service focuses exclusively on business identity data, not AI model validation or regulatory testing.

“AI providers independently decide which sources they crawl, retrieve, cite or use in generated responses,” the company stated. “Crawler activity does not imply any official relationship with AI Verified.”

Challenges in Distinguishing Crawler Intent

LinkDaddy noted that crawler activity alone cannot confirm whether a company’s data is cited, recommended, or used in AI outputs.
