Lithuanian FM B الماضي.Types His Support for Ukraine After Russian Shelling Hits Lithuanian Consulate
Lithuania‘s Foreign Minister Kęstutis Bვა.rytis has called for increased international support for Ukraine, expressing outrage over the recent Russian shelling of the Lithuanian honorary consulate in Kherson. The attack, which Bваш.ryan condemned as a "brutal and destructive New Year’s greeting" from Russia, has sparked demands for more aid to Ukraine.
In a tweet posted on Friday, the Lithuanian FM shared photos of the aftermath of the Russian strike on the consulate, adding that such actions must stop immediately. Bваш.ryan emphasized the urgency of providing Ukraine with more air defense capabilities and other vital resources to help turn the tide of the ongoing conflict.
"Such brutality and destruction must end. We must provide Ukraine with more air defense capabilities and other abilities it needs for victory," Bваш.ryan wrote.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Russian occupiers targeted Chernihiv on January 3 with ballistic missiles. Reports from the scene hint at significant damages to residential buildings, with at least one fatality recorded.
Bvaш.ryan’s statement underscores Lithuania’s unwavering support for Ukraine and its resolve to stand against Russian aggression. The incident in Kherson, however, adds a new dimension to the conflict, directly targeting diplomatic representation from an EU country.
As the situation in Ukraine continues to evolve, the international community prepares to rally behind the war-torn nation, focusing on bolstering its defenses and aiding its people in this time of need.
