LYNGDAL, NORWAY – A significant fire broke out in a building on Birkelandsveien in Lyngdal on Friday evening, with the structure partially collapsing, Agder police operations leader Ole Kleivane confirmed to NRK.
The blaze was first reported at 5:15 PM, with emergency services swiftly responding to the scene. The building, measuring approximately 200 square meters, is currently under full control of firefighters, with no reports of any injuries or persons missing.
Kleivane reassured the public that while the fire was intense, it has not spread to nearby buildings. "There are other structures in close proximity, but as of now, the fire has not spread to them," he said.
In an update at 6:20 PM, police reported that the fire service has gained control of the fire, with no risk of it spreading to other buildings. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
