The Music Center in Los Angeles has unveiled its Summer 2026 season, promising a diverse array of performances, events, and free programming across its Downtown Los Angeles campus.

New York City Ballet Returns

A major highlight of the season will be the return of the New York City Ballet to The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. This marks the ballet’s first appearance at the venue in over 20 years. The performances, scheduled for June 24–28, 2026, will feature works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Ulysses Dove, Justin Peck, Tiler Peck, Gianna Reisen, and Christopher Wheeldon, with evening performances at 7:30 p.m. And matinees on select dates.

Community and Free Events

The Music Center’s summer programming extends beyond ticketed performances. A free World Cup Watch Party, ¡DALE! Fútbol, will be held at Jerry Moss Plaza on Friday, June 26 from 5:00–7:00 p.m., featuring a screening of Spain vs. Uruguay, along with food, art activities, and a dance party. Dance DTLA will as well return for its 22nd season, offering free dance lessons and social dancing on select Friday nights throughout June, July, and August.

Additional Performances and Programs

The season will also include performances of BalletNOW: Superstars of Paris featuring Hugo Marchand &amp. Friends at Walt Disney Concert Hall from July 31 through August 2, 2026. A free outdoor concert is scheduled for August 15, 2026, at Jerry Moss Plaza. The Mark Taper Forum will host Primary Trust from May 20 through June 28, and Mamma Mia! will run at the Ahmanson Theatre from June 23 through July 19. MUSE/IQUE will present Defiantly Joni, a concert celebrating Joni Mitchell, at the Mark Taper Forum from July 1–19. LA Opera will present The Magic Flute at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion from May 30 through June 21, and Renée Fleming will perform in recital at the same venue on June 13, 2026.
