Driver Arrested Following High-Speed Stunt on Hyderabad Outer Ring Road
A resident of Alkapur has been taken into custody by the Narsingi Police following a dangerous driving incident on Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR). The individual, identified as Srikaringula Sairam, was arrested after footage of his high-speed driving was circulated on social media.
The Incident
The events took place on May 19, when Sairam was recorded traveling from the Narsingi tollgate toward the Appa junction. In the video, which was later posted to the social media handle “runningeagle310,” the driver is seen capturing his own speedometer as the vehicle reached speeds of 201 kmph. During the recording, Sairam remarked, “You can see the speed is zero, now we will complete the whole circuit.”

The footage, which featured loud music playing inside the car, caused significant alarm among residents. The recorded speed far exceeds the established 120 kmph speed limit on the ORR.
Legal Consequences
Following an investigation into the social media evidence, the Narsingi Police confirmed the arrest of the accused and the seizure of his vehicle. Authorities have booked Sairam under section 125(A) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for endangering life through rash and negligent driving.
Context and Outlook
This incident highlights the growing challenge of social media-driven reckless behavior on public roadways. As the case proceeds, it is likely that the investigation will focus on the evidence gathered from the digital trail left by the accused. The arrest serves as a reminder of the legal repercussions for those who engage in dangerous driving stunts, and authorities may continue to monitor social media platforms for similar violations to ensure public safety on high-speed corridors like the ORR.
