A tragic incident occurred around 2 p.m. yesterday when a 30-year-old man lost his life in an explosion involving a gas cylinder in his car, parked in a garage in the "Tsarkva" neighborhood of Pernik, according to a statement from the Pernik Regional Police Directorate’s press center.
The force of the blast caused the garage to collapse and shattered windows in the adjacent house. Investigators are currently on the scene gathering more information.
This incident comes on the heels of another gas-related tragedy in VARNA, where a series of explosions in a shopping center left five people hospitalized.
"We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time," said a spokesperson for the Pernik police.
