Breaking News: Police in Møre og Romsdal Seek Man Who Escaped from Hustad Prison

Police in Møre og Romsdal are on the hunt for a man who escaped from Hustad Prison early Tuesday morning. The fleeing inmate is described as a man in his late thirties, of Moroccan origin, last seen wearing a black jacket and red pants along the main road outside the prison. He is accused of winnings-related criminal offenses.

The escape occurred at 6:15 AM on Christmas Eve, but authorities are yet to disclose the specifics of how he managed to flee. Operational leader Sindre Molnes has assured there have been no threats or violence associated with the incident and that the public is not at risk.

"We have several units engaged in the search for this person. We’re also working on leads to determine which direction he might have taken," Molnes said.

The man was last spotted along the main road outside Hustad Prison, which is located in Hustadvika municipality, near Molde.

Police urge anyone who spots the man to contact them immediately at 02800.
