BG Army Aids Police in Search for Missing 13-Year-Old with Down Syndrome
Sofia, Bulgaria – The Bulgarian Army has joined forces with the Ministry of Interior (MVD) in the ongoing search for 13-year-old Nikolai, who went missing from the village of Konaре in Stara Zagora on December 17. The joint operation began on December 24 following a request from the Interior Minister and approval from the Defense Minister.
Today, December 25, soldiers from the 2nd Mechanized Brigade have been deployed to the search area. They are utilizing thermocameras and drones to aid in the extensive search efforts, the Ministry of Defense confirmed.
The teenager, who has Down syndrome, has been the focus of a massive search operation involving hundreds of police officers, gendarmerie, forestry officials, and volunteers. Authorities are exploring various scenarios, including that Nikolai may have lost his way, been involved in an accident, or fallen victim to a crime.
Despite the challenges posed by the winter weather and holiday season, search parties are determined to continue their efforts until Nikolai is found. The local community has also rallied behind the search efforts, offering support and assistance in any way they can.
Anyone with information regarding Nikolai’s whereabouts is urged to contact local authorities immediately. The entire country awaits news of his safe return.
