La Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) in Mexico obtained a court order for the detention of Victor "N," suspecting him of robbing the Casa de Moneda in 2018. The crime, which resulted in around MXN 13.79 million being stolen, occurred on July 14, 2018, at the Casa de Moneda located on Paseo de la Reforma. The robbery was committed violently, highlighting the seriousness of the incident. The accused, Victor "N," was arrested following a search warrant.

The FGR’s prosecution presented sufficient evidence to persuade the judge to approve the bond. A period of three months has been given for supplementary investigation to strengthen the case against Victor "N."

This isn’t the first time the Casa de Moneda has been targeted. In 2019, another violent heist resulted in the theft of MXN 51.84 million worth of centenarios, leading to the detention and conviction of Enrique "B". The same suspect, Edgar Iván Virrueta Theurel, is believed to be connected to two additional Casa de Moneda robberies in 2017 and 2019. (Source: El Universal)
