Medgluv, a national glove distributor for the healthcare industry, said it received the shipment on Friday night at its offices in Coral Springs. On Sunday night, surveillance video shows thieves arriving in a truck who park next to the container and begin to unload the protective equipment. The operation took a few minutes.
“We have hospitals that ask us about this product every day, waiting for this to arrive,” he said. Rick Grimes, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Medgluv. “It’s heartbreaking in more ways than one.”
Grimes did not elaborate on whether the company believes the theft was timely or if there was internal collaboration.
Local police and federal authorities are investigating the case because the surgical-grade gloves were federally registered.
Grimes said the company was “devastated.”
“It is not just about consumers. It’s about friends. We play an important role in healthcare, ”added Grimes.
