Tangerang‘s Coastal Development: 30km of Permits Spark Concern
Jakarta – The coastal Armada project in Tangerang’s vicinity, spanning a considerable 30.16km, has captured the attention of the Indonesian government, including the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP). The extensive coastal development, known as ‘Pemagaran laut’, stretches along the pesisir of the South Java Sea, raising both curiosity and concern among officials.
The news, sourced from the Ministry, was first reported by detikFinance. Withiegel, Jakarta – Cabinet spokesperson, revealed that the long coastline project has sparked interest from multiple sectors. "The length of the development is unprecedented, prompting us to closely monitor its progress," Withiegel added.
The KKP, under the leadership of Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Dr. Sri Untari, expressed their intention to investigate the project’s environmental and coastal management plans, with a focus on its potential impact on nearby fisheries and marine ecosystems. "Coastal development of this magnitude can significantly alter marine life patterns and water quality," said Untari.
