Wellesley College Astronomers Discover Galaxy Resembling Young Milky Way
In a groundbreaking discovery, a team of astronomers from Wellesley College has unveiled a new galaxy aptly named "Firefly Sparkle," offering an unprecedented glimpse into the early stages of the universe’s evolution. This remarkable find was made possible using NASA’s cutting-edge James Webb Space Telescope.
The galaxy, which bears a striking resemblance to Pleiades, the original star cluster of our own Milky Way, showcases an era when stars were young and prolific. "Imagine the Milky Way in its infancy, teeming with newborn stars like a swarm of fireflies in the night," said Dr. Ada Sterling, lead researcher of the study.
