In a bizarre sequence of events, residents in Asker’s Vettre neighborhood have been harassed by an individual dressed as Santa Claus, or ‘Nisse,’ in the lead up to Christmas. The mysterious figure has been caught on camera ringing doorbells and, in some instances, relieving themselves in people’s yards.
"We’ve received multiple complaints about a person in a Santa costume disturbing the peace in the area," says Sven Martin Ege, operations leader at the local police station. "They’ve been ringing doorbells and leaving the scene, and in a few cases, they’ve urinated in people’s gardens."
Ege adds, "While it’s all quite comical given the time of year, we’re taking these reports seriously. We don’t believe this person means any harm, but we’d like to speak to them and put an end to these incidents."
A police patrol was dispatched to the area earlier today in search of the elusive ‘Nisse,’ but unfortunately, they didn’t manage to find him.
Now, authorities are turning to the public for help. "If you’ve seen something or know who might be behind these pranks, please don’t hesitate to contact us," Ege says.
