Norman Powell to Shoot for Back-to-Back Heat Wins in NBA Three-Point Contest
Miami Heat guard Norman Powell will compete in the 2026 NBA Three-Point Contest on February 14, adding to the Heat’s growing presence at All-Star Weekend. This marks Powell’s second consecutive appearance in the event, having participated while with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2025.
First-Time All-Star Seeks Redemption
The selection comes on the heels of Powell being named an NBA All-Star for the first time in his career. Despite enjoying the experience last year, Powell is looking to improve upon his previous performance. “It was fun, I definitely enjoyed every minute, every second of it,” Powell said last year. “Just being in the moment and enjoying it. Having a great time.”
Heat Dynasty in the Three-Point Contest
Powell aims to continue the Miami Heat’s success in the Three-Point Contest. Last year, teammate Tyler Herro took home the trophy, defeating Buddy Hield of the Atlanta Hawks with a score of 24/40. A win for Powell would give the Heat back-to-back titles and extend their record as the team with the most all-time winners in the event – Glen Rice, Jason Kapono, Daequan Cook, James Jones, and Herro.
