Title: Early Bird Norwegians: Planning 2025 Vacations as Winter Looms
Norwegians are embracing their inner early birds, with many already booking their 2025 holidays well in advance. According to Anette Syversen, director of FINN Reise, the trend of planning vacations early, especially family getaways, is evident as popular destinations fill up swiftly for the upcoming seasons.
Traditionally, winter holidays are a high priority for Norwegians, with the upcoming ski season driving demand. Sun seekers are opting for warmer climes in southern Europe, while those seeking an active winter getaway are favouring destinations within Norway.
Innlandet leads the pack as the winter favourite, with Trysil topping the list for domestic winter holiday homes. Other popular choices include Hafjell & Øyer, Rjukan, Norefjell, and Geilo. For those seeking sun during the winter, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Hurghada, Costa del Sol, and Antalya are the most sought-after destinations.
Looking ahead to the Easter holidays, Ustaoset, Sirdal, Venabygd & Ringebu, Hemsedal, and Geilo are the top choices for domestic getaways. Internationally, Antalya, Mallorca, Kreta, Gran Canaria, and Costa Brava & Barcelona are favoured by Norwegians.
With summer months bringing dreams of the Mediterranean, Spain, Greece, and Turkey top the searches for both winter and summer holidays. While Gran Canaria is a winter favourite, Greece shines during the summer, maintaining classic favourites like Mallorca and Kreta.
For domestic summer holidays, Kristiansand, Tvedestrand, Lillesand, Sandefjord, and Mandal are the go-to destinations. Internationally, Kreta, Rhodos, Antalya, Mallorca, and Gran Canaria lead the charge.
So, as winter approaches, Norwegians are wasting no time in securing their 2025 vacation plans, ensuring they get the desired holiday home of their dreams. Happy planning!
