More than half (51%) of Norwegians plan to spend some of their summer holidays abroad this year, according to a recent travel pulse survey.

Anne Mørk-Løwengreen, Communications Manager at TUI Norway, expects many bookings this week and urges, "Don’t wait too long to book. Other Europeans tend to book their holidays earlier than Norwegians have done since the pandemic. The best rooms in the most popular hotels get booked up first."

Mørk-Løwengreen also shares some savings tips for eager travelers:

-Don’t miss out on extra discounts at the Norwegian Travel Show in Lillestrøm from January 10. TUI, for instance, has promotional codes offering up to 2000 NOK off on all their charter destinations this winter and next.

-March is a great time to book, as demand is lower.

-March is a ‘shoulder’ period between February’s winter holidays and April’s Easter break, making it an ideal time for flexible travelers to score great deals.

Survivors Recall Terrifying Journey

Chinese national, 20-year-old Zhang Hujia, recounted his ordeal to VG, stating, "I felt the bus had too many people and was driving too fast." He sustained stitches following the accident. Other passengers echoed similar sentiments about the bus’s speed, as reported by both VG and TV 2.

Hujia, who was on vacation to witness the Northern Lights, thought he might not survive the crash. "I thought: ‘I might die here,’" he told TV 2.

Company Denies Blame

Boreal Norge AS, the company operating the bus, maintains neutrality regarding the cause of the accident due to ongoing police investigations.
