Sir Peter Jackson has confirmed his return to feature film directing with a sequel to the 2011 film The Adventures of Tintin. According to comments made to Gold Derby, Jackson and his partner Fran Walsh are currently writing the script for the follow-up, which is intended to be his next directorial project.
The Long-Awaited Tintin Sequel
The transition from producer to director for the Tintin franchise marks a reversal of roles originally planned between Jackson and Steven Spielberg.

“The idea was that then I was supposed to go straight onto a second one, and we’d swap the roles,” Jackson told Gold Derby. “It’s just taken 15 years to get there, unfortunately, a bit late. But it’s a timeless story.” Jackson noted that he and Walsh have recently wrapped up work on the script, setting the stage for his first feature film since 2014’s The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
