Breaking News: Armed Robbery at ‘Used Products’ Store in Boven ‘t Y Shopping Center

Around 4:30 PM, an armed robbery unfolded at ‘Used Products’, a second-hand electronics store in the bustling Boven ‘t Y shopping center. The masked perpetrator, wielding a hammer, shattered display cases and made off with several phones. Miraculously, no one was injured during the daring heist.

Witnesses report seeing a man, face concealed, smashing vitrines and fleeing with an undisclosed number of stolen devices. This isn’t the first time the store has been targeted, its owner, Berthold Bakker, confirming previous robberies as far back as late 2024. In an attempt to deter future incidents, Bakker started using dummies in his displays, admitting, "You can’t tell them apart from the real ones. But they’re just decoys, empty."

After the latest robbery, police swiftly launched an investigation leading them to an apartment complex near the Loenermark, not far from the Buikslotermeerplein. A scooter with an idling engine was spotted outside the building. Officers conducted a thorough search of the vicinity and the building itself, though it’s unclear if the suspect was apprehended.

Dramatic footage shows police dogs and a hovering helicopter involved in the intense search operation. Authorities urge anyone who witnessed suspicious activity around the Buikslotermeerplein or Loenermark at around 4:30 PM to contact them immediately.

As the investigation unfolds, local residents and shop owners remain on high alert, hoping for a swift resolution to this brazen crime.
