Pope Francis Urges Betlemme University Students: ‘Ticība ir Jūsu Vislielākais Dārgums’

VATICAN – Pope Francis has extended his heartfelt greetings to the students of Betlemme Catholic University, emphasizing the importance of preserving one’s faith in the face of life’s challenges. In his Christmas message, the Pope noted, "Your greatest treasure is your faith, not something to be hidden but shared with others."

démontring the significance of faith, the Pope reminded students that even in moments of weakness or despair, they should entrust themselves entirely to Jesus. "Remember, Jesus is the source of eternal hope," he said, quoting his apostolic exhortation ‘Christus vivit’.

Francis also underscored the importance of fostering academic and social bonds, stating, "Strengthen the ties of academic and social friendship, for they are priceless during your student years."

In a world marked by conflict and division, Pope Francis stressed the need for solidarity and hope. Addressing Betlemme’s students, he implored, "Be examples of the eternal values of the Gospel, becoming leaders in both religious and political arenas."
